Hello - I attended the Hubspot Blogging for Business Webinar today - excellent session!!! Was very valuable. Just one follow-up question - what are the top three to four tactics an organization can implement to ensure that their blog(s) is fully optimized from a Search Engine Optimization perspective? Any/all guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!

This article is really useful, and I think many people agree with me. Why I can said that, because this article really different with others. Many people can write easily, but they can’t write as good as your article.

Another important part of optimizing a blog is to create links pointing to your site. When you do this, make sure you use keyword rich link text, so instead of saying "Read about HubSpots Inbound Marketing Strategies here" with 'here' being the link, make 'Inbound Marketing Strategies' be the link.
That being said, don't over link to your site. If you are always linking to your own pages and trying to push your products/services, your blog will fail. People will see you're simply trying to make sales instead of trying to offer true thought leadership.
One more thing.

Prashant's answer is excellent.
I would just add one thing: It's important to remember that blogging itself is an SEO strategy.
Most folks (see this article by Rand Fishkin) estimate that 25% of SEO is related to on-page optimization, and 75% is related to off-page optimization. The reason is that anybody can do (read: game) on-page SEO. Off-page SEO is much harder because it involves links from other website. That means you need to create great content that is link-worthy. A blog is the best way to create that type of content.
Some SEO Tips for Blogging

Marvin, thanks for the post! Glad you enjoyed Rick's blogging webinar session.
Here are some SEO tips to keep in mind while blogging or developing your blog.
1. Keywords - try to use important keywords in your blog title. Titles are usually a header tag <h1> and are also often used as anchor text. You can also use the keywords in section headers when breaking your blog post into points.
2. 301 redirects - Essentially if your blog is on its own domain the http://www.someblogname.com and http://someblogname.com (without the www) should point to one or the other not both.
3. Meta descriptions - These are more important tham meta keywords (google doesn't consider meta keywords as important anymore). However, the meta description is usually what is shown in the Google search results along with your page (blog) title and url.
4. Anchor text - try to use that when commenting on other people's blogs along with your name. Most blogs allow you to add a URL when you comment (even though most do not pass SEO credit) e.g. I could sign my name as "Prashant Kaw, Inbound Marketing" when with a link back to www.hubspot.com for some possible SEO credit.
5. Clean URLS - please make sure your blog links don't look like http://blogname.com/?id=12345. That is bad. You should have the title of your post in the URL like http:://blogname.com/post/my-first-blog-post/
6. Blog on your own domain - Rick talked about this during the webinar. If your blog is like myblog.blogspot.com, or myblog.typepad.com or myblog.wordpress.com or wordpress.com/myblog -- the SEO credit is going to wordpress.com, blogspot.com or typepad.com. Buy your own domain and host your own blog software on there so you can get the SEO credti.
Hope this helps!
