This position will be responsible for managing the presence of the Ruby Tuesday brand on all applicable social networking
sites and act as a liaison with influential bloggers. The Social Media Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities and
updates for the brand on respective social networks as well as mining the internet for news and reviews related to the
brand. This position will also work with the Interactive and Creative Services team to coordinate online promotions and
social media campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manages the company’s online presence by updating blogs and managing the company’s social media presence.
• Builds relationships with social media experts and high-profile bloggers, microbloggers, etc., to create and expand the
company’s online brand presence.
• Responds to guest inquiries via various mediums (So Connected, social media sites, guest relations, etc.).
• Assists in distributing Ruby Tuesday news and offers through various social media platforms.
• Stays current of innovative techniques applicable to communication and marketing technology, and monitors trends in
social media.
• Has knowledge of commonly-used restaurant operations and technology concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Stays current with all aspects of Ruby Tuesday, Inc. operations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
1-2 Years of Internet work experience preferably in an internet/media-related company or role
Hands-on experience with/engagement in online communities; extreme familiarity with online social networking, the
blogosphere, search tools and general Web 2.0 (FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube, Digg, Flickr, Reddit, etc.)
Must be proficient in: Microsoft Office and Mac platforms with at least a working understanding of HTML
Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
Energy and enthusiasm for all things online are a must!
Must be innovative, detail oriented, and highly organized
Ability to multitask and self-manage in a fun, fast-pasted, rapidly growing and creative environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires a degree in Communications and Technology (or a related discipline) and 3 years of experience OR an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Requires proven advanced technical writing skills to include, but not limited to, composition, editing, formatting. Ability to
read, analyze, and interpret general business data. Requires advanced written and oral communication skills, as well as
the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and Team Members via oral
presentations and written documentation. Skilled at technical proofing of written material for print and online delivery.
COMPUTER SKILLS
The position requires the ability to work in Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems and requires intermediate
knowledge and proven ability using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook/Entourage). This position
also requires a working knowledge of various social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter, as well as a general
working knowledge of internet technologies including HTML.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety
of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with
hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.
